Our History

Women with Latitude were state finalists in the inaugural ABC Classic FM Choir of the Year competition; twice guest performers at the Bundaleer Forest Music Festival; enjoyed the reputation of having several sell-out Adelaide Fringe performances supporting the Dark Knights of Song (WA men’s singing sensation aka Spooky Men of the West) in 2014 and 2015.  In mid 2015, the group backed Geoffrey Gurramul Yunupingu to a sell-out crowd in his Gospel Songs Tour at the Festival Theatre.  Then in 2016, Women with Latitude featured in the first night of The Events, a State Theatre Company production.

In the first 14 years, Women with Latitude held weekly rehearsals at St Theodore’s Anglican Church in Toorak Gardens. It was a wonderful venue that was big enough to hold performances for family and friends but it was not uncommon to see blankets, hot water bottles, woollen scarves and gloves and many layers during the winter months.

In 2013, the group moved to the Church of the Trinity in Clarence Gardens and are thoroughly enjoying the more
comfortable seasonal conditions and true acoustics. An added bonus is that Church of the Trinity is a tremendous
venue for concerts.
